Senior wrestler Charlie Reid has wrestled for the past three years and is still counting his wins. After the first wrestling meet of his senior year he had an amazing athletic accomplishment of getting his 100th wrestling win. Reid feels that the day was so special to him because it shows how his hard work paid off. He thanks his parents and coaches for always supporting and pushing him to be better. While Reid is modest in thinking that he does not possess anything special, his patience and dedication have led to his success. Reid describes how, when he does not want to practice, his teammates are the ones that push him and make him better than the day before.

“There are definitely a lot of rough days. It gets pretty hard sometimes but I have my faith in God and my friends that keep me up,” Reid said.

Coach Kevin Dill is the head boy wrestling coach. He has been a big part of Reids successes. He talks very highly of the effort and hard work that Reid puts in to get to the point that he is at. He feels that Reid always pushes through his pain and adversity to do whatever it takes to win. He is also coachable and he doesn’t have to worry if he is going to come to practice or not because he can count on him always showing up.

“He does everything you tell him to do and more, that is why he is our captain and why he has led our team for the last couple of years,” Coach Dill said.

D’monta Bagby, junior wrestler who has been Reid’s wrestling partner for the past two years, speaks very highly of the amount of heart and effort he puts in. They always try to push each other during practice to be the best they can.

He has always looked out for the team and tries to be a great role model for the rest of the team. Bagby says how big of a leader Reid has been for him these past years and how much he has helped him get through the hard days.

“He taught me how to have confidence in myself on the mat. He also has taught me to just put my trust in God and to go out there and wrestle because there are bigger  things in life than wrestling,” said Bagby.
