Junior varsity soccer captain Rylan Orrick got a medial sprain in her ankle on April 10 in a game against Hazelwood West in a 6-0 win, and has missed seven games so far. They are now 9-6 for the season.
Orrick was not happy to be injured and on the bench, but after a couple of games Orrick thinks that they have done well without her in the lineup, not to mention that they have won games without her as well.
“I think they have done great, they beat Christian the other day 2-0,” Orrick said.
Sophomore varsity starter Olivia Otten agrees with this.
“The team without Rylan is still a team, but us lacking her is not beneficial,” Otten said.

On the edge of coming back, the soccer team has had to face some very tough teams in the past few games, losing many of them.
“We played against harder teams in the past few weeks,” Otten said.
Otten thinks that she is a vital player to the team and thinks that she is detrimental since she is their top goal scorer.
“When she comes back I think that we will be able to connect more and hopefully score more,” Otten said.
Orrick would also agree
“I would say as a 10, a playmaker I’ll hold up the ball or play through, or I would score, so I would say that I make a pretty big impact,” she said.
Sophomore varsity soccer captain Aubreigh Eagan thinks that the soccer team has definitely struggled without her on the field, since they don’t really have an offense without her. But without her she thinks the team has done well.
“Rylan is a natural born leader. We need her because she is very skilled, a great communicator and just a player we need on the field,” Eagan said.
