The St. Charles High Lady Pirates went on their annual trip to Lebanon, Missouri. This trip was anticipated by many and the games that followed are ones to remember every year.

“The Lebanon tournament is something everybody always looks forward to, “ said senior Addi Nemens.

This year the Lady Pirate basketball team went 0-3  in the tournament, but that didn’t affect their strength as a team. This tournament brought the girls together like never before.

“We didn’t win any games but we learned a lot from it, we learned to work as a team better,” said junior Ella Nottmeyer.

From a team building aspect, our girls really got to bond and some of our girls have never been down there including myself too.

— Coach Cameron Johnson-Taylor

Lebanon is two and a half hours away from St. Charles and they stayed overnight for three days.

“I feel like we grew closer after being there for three days together,” said Nottmeyer.

While being there the Lady Pirates played against Carl Junction, the Lebanon Yellowjackets and Joplin.

“Just the experience of playing against different high school girls in different areas of Missouri lets us know that we aren’t too far off from being a good team,” Johnson said.
