It is almost that time of year again the winter musical auditions are coming our way. This year the winter musical is the “How to Succeed in Business Really Without Trying.” This musical follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant “company man,” the office party, backstabbing coworkers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love. “How to Succeed in Business Really Without Trying,” originally premiered on Broadway in 1961 and even won a Pulitzer for its drama.
It is really funny and witty, and there is a lot of dancing and singing involved in the Musical this year. There will be an equal number of girls and of boys in the cast this upcoming season.
The auditions will be held on Nov. 24 in the auditorium at 2:30 after school. If you are interested in joining the google classroom, use the code: j24fotex, or you can always contact choir teacher Courtney Gibson for more information. When you join the google classroom there will be more information on there on how to send a virtual singing audition for solo in the musical and more information.
There are many students who are interested in musicals, one of them is Ethan Cox.
“Oh I am very excited there is gonna be a lot of fun roles and fun songs and fun dances we are bringing in some cool set pieces and it’s gonna be a lot of fun,” Cox said.
Another student that is excited for musical is Lily Black. She was in the musical last year, and she played one of the brides in musical. She also a dancer who loves performing.
“I am so excited. I love musical season; everyone is so fun,” Black said. “I love dancing and that’s why I do the musical. It’s just so fun to be on stage performing with everybody just having fun.”
