The St. Charles High School esports team has a lot to look forward to this year and in the coming years. With a lot of students joining this year, losing a coach and possibly a new room for the next year.

A rumor has been going around about the esport team changing classrooms again for the wrestling team to have their room. The esports room is right by the wrestling room, so to expand the wrestling room, they would expand into the current esports room. Esports would then get their own room, built just for them. 

“Yeah that would be cool, it would be very cool. I don’t know exactly how I’m going to feel about it, where it’s positioned and it kind of depends on how it’s structured, but I really hope they take my input into account,” Coach Alex Messina said. 

With all the new students joining esports, maybe having a new classroom would be good.  All the new students are adjusting great and are making wonderful progress, impressing their coach and captains. They are making a good impression for the future of the team.

“They have made me so proud,” Captain Eaken Vang said. “Even in the first two weeks of school the amount of dedication they put into the game is infallible. ”

As the new students work hard to do well on the team, the older students are working just as hard. The older students have been working with the new students to build relationships. Also, making an environment that encourages the new students to do well, and enjoy the game without too much stress about winning or losing.

“The captains have really good chemistry with the younger people,” Chrisette Johnson said. 

This year Coach Ramsey left the team, after four years of coaching. She made a big influence on the team and helped Coach Messina a lot. Her absence has impacted the team.
