English teacher and Yearbook advisor Brittany O’Keefe got her masters degree in counseling from Lindenwood in May 2025.
After years of studying, she finally got to walk across the stage and get handed her diploma. It was a very stressful journey for her trying to balance all of her responsibilities.
“Not even just the degree part, but balancing getting my masters with full-time teaching with parenting was almost impossible,” Mrs. O’Keefe said.
Now that she has her degree, she has the ability to get a job as a counselor.
“Eventually I want to, I’ve just been waiting and keeping it in the back of my head cause I still like teaching and I’m still happy with it, and I love St. Charles and I don’t want to leave here so that’s a factor as well,” Mrs. O’Keefe said.
Mrs. O’Keefe is one of the teachers that is most loved by her students at our school.
“She’s one of my favorite teachers. She’s definitely the best you can get when it comes to teaching,” senior Connor Murray said.
Murray also said that he thinks that Mrs. O’Keefe would be a great counselor.
“Oh yeah. She’s very helpful with everyone and her personality really fits being a counselor. She’s probably one of the best teachers I could see becoming a counselor.”
Her husband Kyle O’Keefe helped her on her journey and was super excited when she got her degree and got to walk across the stage.
“I was really excited for her. She worked real hard, so getting to see her walk across that stage was amazing, I’m so proud of her.”
