Galley Opening Day

School store sees new success as this year, surpassing years prior

The Galley opened its windows for the 50th time this year, with a great deal of new surprises in store for the student body.

From new staff, to new items the Galley opens this milestone year with great success surpassing years prior. Many new products are available this year in the Galley.

“[We have] Slim Jims, we have Fruit Rollups, Alani, Danimals, Goldfish,” senior A-day manager Jayden Carey said.

But the product isn’t the only new thing this year, as plenty of new employees can be found working behind the scenes.

“In this class I am the only returning member, since I was the only junior last year,” Carey said, “but, so far everyone has been doing awesome.”

The Galley also found new success, making even more profit than even last year, almost surpassing last year’s profit if it weren’t for them not being able to be open for all four lunches.

This success comes from the student body’s excitement about the Galley opening according to Simmons.

This excitement came with its downsides however, as the first day was very crazy for the Galley members. There were lines of students going as far back as to touch the entrance to the nurse’s office.

“It was chaotic, but we got the hang of it really really fast,” said senior B-day manager William Bourgeade.

With all the excitement of the Galley opening yet again, comes the fact that it’s the Galley’s 50th anniversary which will be celebrated sometime in November, though how it will be celebrated is yet to be decided.

“We’re still putting together our plans, and watch for the surprises,” Simmons said.
