Former One Direction member, Harry Styles released a new album called Fine Line on December 13, 2019.

With his second album as a solo artist, he continues to use his soft but powerful voice on a longer, more personal record.

During his interview with Rolling Stones Magazine, Styles says, “Through the two years of making the record I went through a lot of personal changes — I just had the conversations with myself that you don’t always have. And I just feel more comfortable being myself.”

Fine Line ranges from the “Canyon Moon” soft-rock vibe to the R&B sound of “Adore You”.  Having spent so much time in the spotlight when he was younger, he doesn’t tend to follow the pop trends.

The album has 12 songs and is a total of 47 minuets and 37 seconds. Along with “Watermelon Sugar” and “Lights up” which were released as singles, there’s “Golden,” “Cherry,” “Falling,” “To Be So Lonely,” “She,” “Sunflower, Vol. 6,” “Canyon Moon,” “Treat People With Kindness,” and “Fine Line”.

Following in the tradition of “Kiwi” from his self-titled album, Styles has two songs named after fruit on this album. When asked why, he says it’s on accident.

“They seem to be happening by accident, then when I kind of put the album together at the end, I realized there is a lot of fruit on this album. It is a summer album lost in the dead of winter,” Styles says during his interview with Capital FM.

Styles is taking his time coming into focus and find his true voice and his fans, including myself, are here for it.
