The varsity girls basketball team posted a regular season record of 13-13 during the 2024-2025 school year. The team has shown great growth, determination, and teamwork, making this season a memorable one for players and fans alike.
Abby Schultehenrich, JV Girls basketball coach, who has been coaching for several years, emphasizes the importance of the team’s hard work in practice.
When asked about the team’s progress, Coach Schultehenrich highlighted the growth of the players and their commitment to improving their skills.
“We’ve definitely improved this season as a team, our girls have improved a lot in skill and cooperation. We are much more coherent in what we do and confident in our abilities.”
One of the standout players this season, sophomore Rylan Orrick, explained how she has improved considerably since the start of the season. She led the team with 148 rebounds.
“I’ve definitely improved since the beginning of the season, and I’m really proud of where I am now. I think that I’ve grown with my team a lot and we work really well together,” said Orrick.
Another key player, sophomore Grace Basler, also explained that the district games were occurring soon. Basler was the leading scorer among her team with 324 points.
“We play Winfield at the district games, and I think we’ll win against them. We’ve already beat them twice in the regular season,” said Basler.
With the season nearing its end, the team remains focused on finishing strong and preparing for the next challenges ahead. Coach Schultehenrich expressed pride in the players’ efforts and their growth throughout the season.
