As winter sports begin the end of their seasons, teams also begin celebrating their seniors and the amazing amount of effort and commitment they have put into their sports. Senior night was hosted on Feb. 23 and was an important night for the teams. Seniors look back on their time with their sport and appreciate the memories made.
“In my opinion, the best part of my sport is a hundred percent the girls. I have gotten to play with my best friends all four years and I am so grateful for all the time I spent in the program with them,” senior basketball player Jenna Hollrah said.
The cheer team also celebrated senior night with a giant performance with both JV and Varsity teams.
“My favorite part of senior night was definitely getting to perform our routine that we had been working on for about a month and seeing everyone do so well at it,” senior cheer member Alexis Davis said.
In between games, seniors and parents walked across the gym floor to be recognized for all their hard work.
“[My favorite part was] celebrating with my closest family and friends,” senior basketball player Addi Nemens said.
One of the important moments during this senior night was Lorelei Oetting, taken out by a knee injury during volleyball season, getting to score one last layup as the game began.
“My favorite part of senior night was getting to see my best friend Lorelei score a layup and getting to celebrate with her,” Hollrah said.
All in all, it was a successful senior night for all four teams and the graduating seniors are sure to do great things in the future.
“[The best part was] sharing my senior season with my best friends,” Nemens said.
