As we go into the second semester there are a lot of new faces around the building. Ten new students transferred in during or around Winter Break.

Daylin and Layla Amis are siblings who transferred in together from Francis Howell North.

“The teachers definitely care way more than my other teachers did, and the people are more welcoming,” Layla Amis said.

Layla used to play basketball, cheer, and track, but then had to get knee surgery so couldn’t continue when she transferred.

“The school is really easy to get around in. It’s really old,” Daylin Amis said.

Cassie Tennyson transferred from Francis Howell Central where she participated in Student Council, Theater, and she plans on joining theater/drama club this semester.

“The students are friendly and the teachers have been nice. It’s smaller than my last school and at first the set up and the buildings were a little complicated to navigate, but once you get it down it’s easy,” Tennyson said.

The students are getting around easily and meeting new people. Some have felt relief because they’re reconnecting with people they haven’t seen in awhile.
