The 2022 Grammys Awards
Awards featured the best of the world’s music industry
This year the Grammys had an array of impressive award winners and performances, and just like last year Trevor Noah hosted the show. They started off the night with a performance of 777 by R&B duo Silk Sonic. Iconic singers like Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, BTS, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and many more had live performances as well. Jon Batiste was the most Grammy-nominated artist this year with 11 total nominations, and five wins including Album of the Year for his album We Are. Silk Sonic was nominated for four Grammys this year and won all four including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for their song Leave the Door Open. The award for Best New Artist went to 19-year-old artist Olivia Rodrigo, who won a total of three Grammys this year. The night ended with a performance of Dead Man’s Curve by Brothers Osborne.
A special performance took place in the middle of the show to honor the people of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a pre-recorded message encouraging people to spread the word, and to stand up for the Ukrainian people. Afterwards John Legend led a performance of Free along with Siuzanna Iglidan, Mika Newton, and Lyuba Yakimchuk: who are all Ukrainian.
