New Special Education teacher Ryan Hanmore had graduated as a pirate some years ago. He is very athletic and sports was one of the reasons he decided to become a teacher.

“I came back here as a volunteer, just working with students and athletes got me really teaching,” Hanmore said.

He has a real connection with the kids and students and becoming a teacher was almost like a reward to him.

“I really enjoyed those relationships and that helped guide my path to getting a teaching degree,” Hanmore said.

Even as a teacher, sports are still very important to him and so is coaching.

“I play softball on my free time and volleyball also throughout the week and competitive league”, Hanmore said.
