Kim Pond

Florida man finds new home in Missouri

Kim Pond may be new to our district, but he is no stranger to teaching.

“Prior to joining the St. Charles High School family, I taught at a high school in Florida for six years,” Pond said.

Although he taught at a school in Florida, he has not always been a teacher. In fact, he was a server at The Cheesecake Factory and even served in the military for five and a half years with two deployments to Iraq.

Even though he has tried various different types of jobs, he has always wanted to be an English teacher.

He finds “great beauty in words and the comfort that books can bring to people.”

Pond is not just your average English teacher. Outside of school, he likes to spend time with his wife, daughter, and son. They do things like going out to the movies and the Missouri Botanical Garden. He also enjoys cooking on his grill.

“If I can, I enjoy using my smoker and grill to cook steaks, porkchops… and always experimenting with different combinations of foods.”
