There was a family in need and it did not look like they would be able to afford Christmas this year. National Honor Society was the first to answer the call.

“NHS was like, we’ve got you, we’re gonna buy the presents and wrap them,” senior Michaela McCoy said.

Students came together and decided on a way to make this happen.

“We were asked to donate money,” senior Nicole Barteau said.

“Everyone gave about  $1 or more if you could,” McCoy added.

The family was comprised of a mom, dad and a few kids. With the money they pooled together, some of the NHS members went to stores one weekend and bought a bunch of presents for all of them.

They spent another day wrapping all the presents.
“We wrote them cards and signed all of our names,” senior Carolyn Fortenberry said.
