Even though volleyball season isn’t over yet, major things have occurred. Volleyball seniors Rosie Kuegele and Lily Bott have both hit major records. Kuegele hit 1000 digs while Bott hit her 2000 digs, bringing them higher up on the record board.

Bott broke the record with 2000 digs during their game vs. Winfield on Sept. 11.

“It feels really good… it’s like validation that I am good and I know I can keep doing better and get better,” Bott said.

She will be going to Webster University to continue her academic and athletic career and is very excited to be pushed even more to get better as well as see more progress.

Kuegele hit just as big of a milestone as Bott did. Even after a setback last year when she had to step up to be the team’s setter, she was able to hit her 1000 career digs during the teams tournament at Pattonville on Sept. 13.

Kuegele has been playing volleyball since second grade and believes that, “having great teammates who make you confident when playing and a coach who tells you how to basically do the sport,” plays a big role in helping her accomplish this big of a record.

She will be attending Mizzou this next school year, but is not sure what team she will be playing on.

Varsity Volleyball Head Coach Sadie Kosciuk is just as excited about these records as Bott and Kuegele are.

“They have worked their butts off to be where they are,” she said.

Kosciuk says she is only part of the reason they have accomplished what they have, due to all of their work outside the high school team.
