The school year has brought in new people, and with these new people come new officers. Student Council has welcomed the class of 2029 with open arms, as well as previous classes from years before.
So far, the elections that took place on Sept. 16 have brought in a very engaging group of people with a total of 30 people signed up from both the spring and fall semester. Out of those 30, only one junior applied. More applications came from the freshmen with a total of seven people leaving one position left to be filled.

“They went better than they have in previous years,” Vice President Lana Usery said.
The process of elections are meant to be easy so that everyone can apply. The main requirement that they must follow is a certain GPA standard in order to be a representative. Those who have applied have already been accepted, and have been announced on the grade level google classrooms.
The Executive board is President Daniel Waters, Vice President Lana Usery, Secretary Ethan Cox, and PR Monica Ferguson.
The Senior class officers are President McKenzie Davis, Vice President Charlotte Kulma, and Secretary Christian Gustafson.
The Junior class officers are President Mia Vazquez, Vice President Malia Jones, and Secretary Maria Linhoff.
The Sophomore class officers are President Carter Crumble, Vice President Aubreigh Eagan, and Secretary Marcella Sheils.
The Freshmen class officers are President Lillian Trauterman, Vice President Metabel Sanders, and Secretary Bella Rademacher.
“Officers are meant to be the voice of their grade level,” said StuCo Advisor Skye Reichert.
Each officer has a different responsibility to achieve. For example, presidents may work on finding a vehicle float for the parade while the secretary conjures up themes for said float. Though there are certain responsibilities to follow, there is something officers should always keep in mind.
“Listen to your class,” President Daniel Waters said. “Because that’s the whole point of the student council, is that we are here to represent the student body.”
