Blake French is a new addition to the PE department here at SCHS for the 2025-2026 school year. Before coming to SCHS, French taught sixth grade math and science at Jefferson Intermediate school for nine years. 

“I love the culture here, ” French said. 

French is also the head girls varsity basketball coach here and very involved with her players and students. She has been the head basketball coach for four years. 

“I’ve always wanted to be a PE teacher and also since I coach here, I wanted to be in the same building.” 

In addition to coaching basketball and teaching, she is also the assistant varsity softball coach at St. Charles West, as well as the girls lacrosse JV head coach at Francis Howell High School. 

“I like it, I get to meet a lot of different people and it’s also fun whenever I get to play my other athletes in different sports,” said French. 

She loves to build relationships with her players outside of just practice. She said this is yet another reason she loves being in the same building she coaches in. 

On the other side of coaching and teaching, French loves to hang out with her nieces and nephews in her free time.
