Proposition SCSD

Proposition on the ballot for the April 8 election day
Proposition SCSD

The local St. Charles election is going to take place on Tuesday, April 8 and there will be a proposition on the ballot related to The City Of Saint Charles School District. Proposition SCSD is a bond issue that would not result in a tax increase.

Proposition SCSD, if passed, would let the district borrow money to fund renovations and updates around the school district. This proposition would give about $90 million dollars to the school district without raising the tax rate.

Without this proposition, it would be very difficult for the district to renovate school facilities because there is no source of funding specifically for renovating schools in the state of Missouri.

If Proposition SCSD doesn’t pass, it will just delay the planned projects for the school district. Proposition SCSD isn’t the first bond issue that’s been on the ballot. In 2021 SCSD passed a nearly $50 million dollar bond issue that gave upgrades to Null Elementary, Hardin Middle, and the Success Campus. Every several years, the district tries to pass bond issues in order to maintain school facilities.
