Spring is here and it’s time to dance, that’s right just last week on March First our school had its Spring Fling. Organized by StuCo and attended by our student body, this year’s dance was full of memories, some good, some bad, but all unforgettable.

Some of these memories come from Kristopher Ivy. As a freshman, this was Ivy’s first spring fling and he had a great time with his friends on the dance floor, especially during the line dancing. His only complaint was that some of the songs were quote “nasty” and were full of bad words and that the DJ needed to turn them down.

“They did a good job, the DJ, though she needs to turn it down with some of those nasty, dirty songs… but otherwise I loved it.”

Some more memories, this time from a senior, specifically Madalynn Orosco. Orosco also had a great time dancing with her friends just like Kris did. Though her good memories are similar, her less than great ones are quite different. One complaint held by Orosco was the photo booth, namely, the fact that it always breaks within the first 20 to 30 minutes of the dance. Other than that she had a wonderful time and loved how everything looked.

“I thought it was really pretty and very cute, I liked the decorations they picked. I don’t really like the photo booth they do because it always falls apart within 20 to 30 minutes,” Orosco said.

Danika Nalepa, a member of StuCo who helped organize the dance, says that this year’s dance had a lot of effort put into it to make it enjoyable. The decorating took around eight and a half hours split between two days, and the way everything was executed led to almost zero stress or problems with setting everything up. Despite low ticket sales, StuCo made sure that everyone attending had a great and memorable time.

“Ticket sales were obviously lower, I’m sure students are uneasy because of the last few unsuccessful dances,” Nalepa said.
