At St. Charles High School, members of the National Honor Society have done various service acts. Some members of the NHS have a favorite and memorable service act.
“I was able to go to Matthias’ Lot church and help out with their drive. We were able to help low- income families and give them free mittens, scarfs, coats, and different things for the winter. It was a really good opportunity for me and I was able to use my ability of speaking Spanish to help Hispanic families in the community as well,” President Connor Bayliss said.
One of the member’s favorite experiences took place at a rival school.
“We all sat outside in the rain together and it was a pretty good bonding experience. We were at St. Charles West helped out with PD and directing traffic and we showed teachers where to go. We all just bonded even if it wasn’t our school,” Colleen Nay said.
Other members enjoyed helping on campus at St. Charles High as well.
“Decorating the hallways with snowflakes because I enjoyed the experience and getting to help out,” Slade Nagel said.
