This year, SCHS has a lot of kids graduating early. In order to do this these students had to take classes over the summer or double up on classes during their junior year.
Jayden Brothers is graduating at the end of this semester. After he graduated he will be studying to get his real estate license.
“I decided to graduate early to start my career earlier and free up some more time in my schedule.”
He took four summer classes to get all of his credits and felt it took a lot of hard work.
“The hardest part is… time management in the summer to… do the classes because everyone just got out of school, so you want to have fun and spend time with your friends but you still have to find the time to complete… assignments on time.”
Olivia Elder is also excited to graduate at the end of the semester. After her graduation, she will be attending St. Charles Community College in January. Despite all of this excitement, she will miss her friends and teachers very much.
Samaria Martin-Pope is graduating a year early and will be graduating with her senior classmates at the end of the year.
“I ultimately decided to graduate early because I really wasn’t doing much in high school… I wasn’t really having fun so I was like I may as well just graduate.”
Samaria took both Chemistry and English over the summer and felt it was stressful due to the short break in between her semester one and semester two courses. Despite this, the real challenge was getting everything in order for this school year. She had to make sure she had her AIP switched and that she was included in all of the senior activities.
