The Pickleball Club is new to St. Charles High School this year. Currently they get together on Tuesdays from 2:45pm-3:45pm at the Lindenwood courts. There are a few sponsors for this club, these include English teacher Taylor Beye, science teacher Hannah Robinson, and Success Campus secretary Sharon Stewart.
“Initially, the club was formed when a student approached me about starting the club. I wanted to support them, so we decided to work on getting it started this year,” said Robinson.
Although some of the student players are hoping for more than just a club.
“It’d be cool if we could gain more members and be recognized as an official school sport,” said junior Delaney Fullerton.
The Pickleball Club was made to have fun, and they are definitely achieving that and more.
“The students have taken up coaching each other, and it has been neat to see them develop a collaborative improvement process. I’m also grateful to be working with Ms. Beye and Mrs. Stewart who are more knowledgeable in the sport as we are able to support each other and help keep the club open even when we get busy,” said Robinson.
