During Yearbook camp, July 24-26 Yearbook adviser Brittany O’Keefe, the head of the Yearbook group, got the idea of coming up with a yearbook spirit week for St. Charles High.
“I got the idea, actually we went to yearbook camp over the summer and a different adviser had said that they do spirit week during national yearbook week, so I said that would be really fun. That’s where I got the inspiration to do it.”
After she had introduced the idea to the Yearbook staff they had trouble at first.
“We weren’t very at ease because we haven’t done a yearbook spirit week. I’ve been working here for five years and this is the first time we’ve ever done a yearbook spirit week.”
The group struggled at the beginning with coming up with the outfit ideas. But they started to understand how they needed the spirit week to match up with the yearbook theme.
“I didn’t come up with anything. Actually two of our seniors came up with the ideas; Ariana Allen and Stevie Myers. They had come up with a lot of ideas, they actually had to take some out and choose some,” O’Keefe said.
