Key Club is gearing up for a new year, filled with community service opportunities that have both long-time members and newcomers excited. The club’s focus on giving back remains strong, with a few key events already planned for the coming months.
Returning member Chris Cortez Lopez is especially eager for the club’s major events. When asked about what he was looking forward to for the club later in the semester Cortez Lopez said, “overall in Key Club, I’m looking forward to participating in the major volunteering events. We have an event in December that I always enjoy volunteering in, and helping out with the blood drive in the spring.”
In addition to returning members, Key Club has seen a small wave of new students joining the club this year, all eager to contribute. Senior Emma Duffy, who’s currently running for Homecoming Queen, joined this fall, and is already looking forward to getting involved.
“I just joined the club this year, but it seems like a good way to give back to the community,” Duffy said.
Another member, Nate Moseley, when asked what he was looking forward to this year said, “I’d say I’m looking forward to recycling.”
With both new and returning members expressing enthusiasm for what’s ahead, Key Club seems set for another successful year of service. The club continues to provide opportunities for students to engage with their community while building leadership, teamwork, and volunteering skills.
