Starting back up for the new school year, the Pirate Players have elected their club officers and representatives. They have elected seniors Hope Day as President, Dani Nalepa as Vice President, and Jessie Morehead as Secretary. These new officers are all very excited for their roles, and are excited for what comes this year.
President Hope Day has been involved in the club since her freshman year, and has worked hard to get to this point. She has been in many different roles in the department, including doing tech work and being a cast member.
“It has been a long time coming,” said Day. “I like my theater people, and being involved.”
Jessie Morehead has also been involved with theater for many years, so being able to fulfill her last year with an important role in the group means a lot to her.
“[As secretary], I take meeting minutes and keep track of plans discussed. I help organize events,” said Morehead.
As the vice president, Dani Nalepa states her duties. She has been an officer for the club since her freshman year.
“I plan the banquet, and make sure that everyone’s transportation is taken care of. I also make sure people memorize their lines, and plan meetings for the club.”
This upcoming season for the Pirate Players is something to look out for, as all members are working hard on the upcoming play on Nov. 22 and 23.
“I am excited to train the new officers this year and leave it up to them next year,” said Nalepa.
