As a senior starter for St. Charles High’s girls basketball team, Alexa Chairs has a positive looking future, starting with the full ride offer she received from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Chairs got the offer from UMSL for a full ride basketball scholarship and signed with them in the early signing period. Her signing was attended by her mother and step-dad, Ben Owens and Drew Ebert who coach girls basketball at High, and Corey Hahn the school’s Activities Director.

“I really like the school and I felt it was a good fit for me, that’s why I committed so early,” Chairs said.

She has played on the Pirates varsity team for three of her four years in the sport. Chairs says she will be living in apartments with other members of the UMSL girls team. She also plans to major in Mass Communications and minor in Journalism while she studies at UMSL.
